Greencarrier and triathlon in Fredericia – Yes it’s possible!

On September 3rd, Greencarrier Liner Agency and Greencarrier Freight Services in Denmark, invited their business partners for the second year in a row to participate in the triathlon race “Challenge Fredericia”.

From our Greencarrier side, five teams with 15 athletes were signed up for the race, including our customers and business partners. The surroundings and weather conditions were perfect for triathlon during the competition with low wind, 20 degrees in the sun and 16,5 degrees in the water.

In total, almost 400 participants was participating at the challenge in Fredericia, with a mix of professionals and first time athletes. A great atmosphere in Fredericia among the visitors, cheering on the athletes, supported the participants. All teams participated as relay teams in the Olympic distance:

  • 1500 m Swimming
  • 40 km Cycling
  • 10 km Running

From Greencarrier’s side, our best performing team was the “Greencarrier Hurricanes”; a mixed team with René Sørensen (Greencarrier Freight Services), Maja Stage (RM) and Henrik Nielsen (Martin Bencher). Together they finished in an outstanding time of 2 hours, 23 minutes and 11 seconds.

Both Morten Quist Andersen, Managing Director for Greencarrier Liner Agency Denmark and Claus Sørensen, Branch Manager for Greencarrier Freight Services Aarhus were happy with this event. Sørensen commented:

“We used this event as both a challenge and teambuilding between our own employees, but also as an important branding of the Greencarrier brand. We want to show others that we are a modern company with active staff, whom always are ready to take up a challenge and live up to our mindset: “Yes, it’s possible!”.”

Thomas Grøn, Agility Denmark, was a satisfied participant and said following after the race:

“Thanks for a super event in Fredericia! It was really great to meet all of you “Greencarrier-guys”! Good atmosphere in wonderful surroundings with excellent weather and it is always nice to meet other colleagues in the business.
