Human Rights Due Diligence

2023 Norwegian Transparency Act

Greencarrier Liner Agency Norway AS works to promote good working conditions and human rights in the supply chain through close cooperation with our suppliers and partners.

A new Norwegian law, the Transparency Act, came into effect on July 1, 2022. The purpose of this act is to promote respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions by Norwegian enterprises in connection with the production of goods and provision of services. It also aims to ensure public access to information regarding how enterprises address adverse impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.

A key requirement of the Transparency Act is the obligation to conduct Integrity Due Diligence assessments in accordance with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. This includes the duty to identify whether an enterprise’s activities might have actual or potential adverse consequences related to human rights and decent working conditions. In the case of Greencarrier Liner Agency Norway AS, it involves implementing preventive measures to prevent or mitigate such consequences, continuously monitoring third parties, and engaging in communication with affected parties.
