– Greencarrier is much like golf today, a global business. When the Gothenburg region organizes an exciting event such as a European Tournament, we want to be part of it and we also see it as a good opportunity for qualitative exposure and activity, says Stefan Björk, Chairman of the Board, Greencarrier.
Greencarrier AB, which started in 2000, has in a very short time period transformed itself into a major player in the logistics industry with a turnover around 4 billion SEK. The company employs about 800 people around the world with their own offices in the Nordic, Baltic, UK and Asian countries.
When it comes to golf, Greencarrier has a long history of commitment to the sport. For several years, they have been the partner of Hills Gold & Sports Club, the venue for this year’s Nordea Masters. Greencarrier also sponsors “Barngolfen”, Sweden’s largest golf charity event, where the proceeds go directly to the foundation for Queen Silvia’s Children and Youth Hospital. Barngolfen have raised about 15 million SEK for the foundation so far.
In august, Hills will be host of some of the world’s hottest golfers. The best ranked Swedish players right now are: Henrik Stenson (currently ranked 14 in the world but will not play Nordea Masters) Alexander Norén (17), Alexander Björk (123) and David Lingmertz (187).
– Our hope is that partners, employees and their families will have an outstanding golf experience at Hills in August. We associate golf with teamwork, creativity, focus and goal awareness – as well as with our mindset “Yes it’s possible!”. It also has environmental and health ingredients that are essential in Greencarrier’s daily activities, says Stefan Björk.
